The real estate trend the past 5 years or so is that the dining room is dead - thanks to Covid (never thought I would say that!), dining rooms are making a come back.

Yes, many homes may not use the formal dining room as much as we did in the 'old days' and some have eliminated them completely either by converting the room into a flex room or not including it at all in the architectural design. But people are still dining and I would argue that the past two years have fueled a resurgence in people valuing a space in their homes where people gather to dine and have a conversation.

The dining 'room' may have morphed into a dining 'area' within the kitchen. So it may not be an individual, designated room as much as it used to be, but the need…

The real estate market in 2021 has been like nothing we have seen before. What does 2022 has in store for us?

Expect slower housing price appreciation, easing inflation and rising interest rates in 2022 - according to NAR (National Association of Realtors).

"Overall, survey participants believe we'll see the housing market and broader economy normalize next year," Yun said. "Though forecasted to rise 4%, inflation will decelerate after hefty gains in 2021, while home price increases are also expected to ease with an annual appreciation of less than 6%. Slowing price growth will partly be the consequence of interest rate hikes by the Federal Reserve."

The NAR expects 30-year fixed mortgage rates to end 2022 at 3.7%, up from a recent 3.2%,…

Some of us really struggle to find that perfect affordable gift for our love ones.  Here are some of my favorite items purchased this year that may help you with one or more gifts

Ninja Air Fryer

A friend of mine who is a chef recommended this to me.  At first I didn't think I needed yet another kitchen appliance!! However, I could not have been more wrong.  This air fryer not only air fries, it is also an oven, grill and dehydrator.  To be honest after buying this appliance I hard use my oven and BBQ.  This gets a 10 out of 10 from me.

Yeti 20oz Tumbler

These tumblers are amazing!!  For a working realtor like myself who is out in the car for most of the day. This cup of miracles keeps my drink hot or cold all day long.  I even use it…

Today, green energy is a hot topic. Many times I have been asked why Florida with its abundance of sunshine does not have more solar powered homes - good question!

Seems the message has been heard and received - Florida Power & Light has unveiled the largest solar powered battery in the world! Located in Parrish this amazing feat of engineering spans 40 acres, about the same as 30 football fields, with a capacity of 409 megawatts - thats equal to 300 million AA Batteries.

The project is part of the FPL “30-by-30” goal, which is to install 30 million solar panels in Florida by 2030.

Sterling reached a high for 2020 against the euro as concerns grow over the Eurozone economy, fueled by the ongoing outbreak of coronavirus.

Poor German ZEW economic sentiment survey reflected a growing lack of faith in the Eurozone economy, particularly in Germany with its reliance on trade with China, while the UK enjoyed a commanding boost from positive employment figures and a rise in inflation to 1.8%. This inflation data was closer to the Bank of England’s target of 2.0% and beat the forecast of 1.6%. As a result, investor faith continued to abandon the euro and flock to the pound, which remains unscathed by the impact of the coronavirus on the currency markets.

“Do not let us speak of darker days; let us speak rather of sterner days. These…

Technology, both in the home and in our day to day lives is moving fast.  Buyers are looking for more and more “Smart” options in a home ie. Doorbell, thermostat, lighting, blinds, to mention a few.  As this fast growing segment advances we have to be mindful that we may be monitored via video feed or audio.  One basic example is the Ring Doorbell, which has capture some interesting events both concerning and extremely funny like falling over in the ice – sorry not sorry for finding that hilarious!
